In a notification issued on Saturday, the department instructed school administrations to strengthen on-campus security and to assume full responsibility for the safety of students and staff.

Authorities have also been told to carry out security audits of all institutions, point out any lapses, and ensure that such issues are resolved without delay.

The notification adds that officials must visit schools on a daily basis to inspect and verify the measures in place.

The department emphasised that providing a safe environment for students remains a foremost priority of the government.
