Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari administered the oath at the Islamabad High Court building.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif were present.

The ceremony was also attended by the senior government officials, including the Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, and the Chairman Senate Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani.

Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present at the ceremony.

The president approved Justice Aminuddin’s appointment as the inaugural chief justice of the Federal Constitutional Court last night, after which the Ministry of Law issued the formal notification.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had sent the advice for the appointment to the president. Justice Aminuddin also heads the constitutional bench formed under the 26th constitutional amendment.
