During the meeting, Hickey commended CM Maryam’s commitment to environmental protection and her speech at the global forum, calling it inspiring.

She even quoted three excerpts from the chief minister’s address, appreciating her clarity and passion for climate action.

Hickey said the World Bank was ready to collaborate with the Punjab government on clean air, forestation, and sustainable development projects, and invited Punjab to participate in the international carbon market.

Expressing gratitude, CM Maryam said she aimed to make Punjab a model province for environmental progress and sustainability.

Valerie Hickey also accepted Maryam Nawaz’s invitation to visit Punjab.
