The operation began on Monday following an attack by Afghan militants at the cadet college.

According to security sources, approximately 650 people, including 525 cadets, were present in the college at the time of the attack.

So far, 115 individuals have been safely evacuated, the sources said.

Three militants have been contained within a designated building, and the entire area is under tight security.

The building housing the attackers is located at a considerable distance from the cadets’ residential quarters, ensuring that all students remain safe.

Security officials said the operation is being conducted with extreme caution to avoid any casualties among cadets or staff.

Evacuations are ongoing in stages, with around 535 people still inside the college.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that three people were martyred in Monday’s attack.

He said over 500 students were present at the time and added that the militants aim to defame the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stressing that Pakistan must come first.

The operation comes after Afghan militants rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the college’s main gate on Monday, destroying the entrance and damaging nearby buildings.

Army personnel responded promptly, killing two attackers on the spot.

Officials said the operation will continue until all militants are neutralised, reaffirming the forces’ commitment to safeguarding Pakistan’s educational institutions and civilians.
