According to party sources, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman held a detailed telephonic conversation to discuss the prevailing political situation and constitutional matters.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to resist any move that undermines the 18th Amendment.

The development comes as the federal government reaches out to political parties for support on the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.

Officials have also contacted JUI-F’s leadership to seek its backing for the draft amendment.

Sources said Maulana Fazlur Rehman has demanded the government share the complete text of the proposed amendment before taking a final position.

Meanwhile, the JUI-F parliamentary party has been summoned to meet today at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

The meeting will be attended by party members of the National Assembly and Senate.

Party insiders said the session will review the country’s political situation, the 27th Amendment draft, and the outcomes of recent interactions with both government and opposition leaders.

The meeting is also expected to discuss the joint opposition’s strategy and parliamentary coordination in the coming days.
