According to court sources, Mehsud has been directed to submit surety bonds worth Rs50,000 and appear before investigators as part of the ongoing inquiry.

The incident occurred a day earlier on Karachi’s Nishtar Road, where a dumper truck fatally struck a young man, Shahzaib, and injured his wife.

Following the accident, angry citizens set the dumper on fire. The driver, who had fled the scene, was later arrested by police.

Shortly after the incident, Dumper Association chairman Liaquat Mehsud arrived at the scene accompanied by his armed guard.

Eyewitnesses said his presence triggered strong public outrage, with citizens demanding justice.

During the confrontation, Mehsud’s guard opened fire and fled, causing panic in the area.

In response, angry protesters later torched another dumper in the Ramswami area of Garden.

Later, Mehsud claimed that he had been attacked and announced plans to block the National Highway in protest.

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori took serious notice of the incident, stating that brandishing firearms or threatening citizens in public was unacceptable.

Police said the search for the guard involved in the firing is underway.

Two FIRs have been registered over the incident, including one against Liaquat Mehsud himself.

The first FIR was lodged by the father of the deceased, while the second was filed by social activist Abdul Qadir Memon.

According to the FIRs, Liaquat Mehsud issued threats of dire consequences at the scene, while his armed guards opened fire on citizens, assaulting men, women, and children.

The complaint maintained that Mehsud’s convoy used police-style sirens to intimidate the public.
