According to ISPR, troops detected movement of terrorists near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan and launched a swift and effective operation, killing two militants on the spot.

Among those killed was an Afghan national identified as Qasim, a former member of the Afghan Border Police.

In a separate intelligence-based operation in the Tank district, another militant was killed. He was identified as Afghan national Ikramuddin alias Abu Dajana.

The ISPR said the slain terrorists were associated with the Indian proxy outfit Fitna al-Khawarij and were involved in terror activities inside Pakistan.

Following the incidents, Pakistan once again urged the interim Afghan Taliban government to ensure effective border management and prevent the use of Afghan soil by terrorists.

Security forces reaffirmed their resolve to defend Pakistan’s borders and eliminate terrorism as part of operation Azm-e-Istehkam.

Clearance operations are underway in the area to track down any remaining militants.
