According to traffic police officials, citizens receiving their first e-challan can have the fine waived by submitting an official apology.

In the case of a second e-challan, a 50% discount will be offered if the fine is paid within 14 days.

However, fines paid after 21 days will have to be settled in full without any concession.

The officials said that a fine of Rs5,000 has been set for motorcyclists caught violating traffic signals. Those who clear the fine within 14 days will only need to pay Rs2,500.

The traffic police urged citizens to take advantage of the policy by submitting fines within the stipulated time frame.

The initiative, they added, is aimed at encouraging timely payments and improving overall traffic discipline in the city.
