The visit is being undertaken at the invitation of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The Foreign Office spokesperson said that Pakistan, along with seven other Arab and Islamic countries, has been part of the peace initiative that culminated in the signing of the Gaza Peace Agreement in Egypt’s Sharm El Sheikh.

During the Istanbul meeting, Pakistan will stress the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire, the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the occupied Palestinian territories — particularly Gaza — and the provision of unhindered humanitarian aid to Palestinians, along with the reconstruction of Gaza.

Pakistan will also reiterate the importance of collective efforts toward establishing an independent, viable, and contiguous State of Palestine with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital, based on pre-1967 borders, in line with relevant UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The statement added that Pakistan remains firmly committed to supporting peace, justice, and dignity for the Palestinian people and to ensuring their right to self-determination.
