The inquiry, led by Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Haroon Joya, also included DIG Atiq Tahir and DIG Operations Jawad Tariq.

The committee reviewed postmortem findings, staff statements, and other evidence before reaching its conclusion.

According to sources, the postmortem report confirmed that SP Adeel Akbar died from a bullet wound to the face, which was determined to be the cause of death.

The committee recorded statements from the officer’s wireless operator, driver, and other staff members, as well as from a psychologist who had treated the late SP.

It was revealed that Adeel Akbar had consulted his doctor twice before his death.

The finalised report will be submitted to Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Ali Nasir Rizvi, who is expected to forward it, along with his recommendations, to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
