According to the sources, Saleem Khan submitted his resignation to Supreme Court Chief Justice Yahya Afridi.

Saleem Khan, who was on a 45-day leave, had temporarily handed over his responsibilities to District and Sessions Judge Fakhar Zaman, who is currently serving as acting registrar.

He was appointed as Registrar of the Supreme Court of Pakistan in November 2024 for a three-year term, replacing former registrar Jazila Aslam.

Before his appointment, Saleem Khan served as a senior officer in the Pakistan Administrative Service and also held the position of Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

On the occasion of his departure, Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and other judges presented a commemorative shield to Saleem Khan in recognition of his services.
