Judicial Magistrate (South) Zahid Ali issued the order after the completion of the remand of two arrested police officials, Abid Shah and Asif, who were presented before the court.

During the hearing, the magistrate asked the accused whether they were responsible for the killing or being made scapegoats.

“The man did not die at our hands,” the accused responded.

The judge remarked that the case would now be investigated by the FIA, which would determine who was actually responsible for Irfan’s death.

The magistrate directed the investigating officer to hand over the custody of the accused to the FIA immediately.

The officer informed the court that the suspects would be handed over to the agency later the same day.

According to the investigation officer, four other police officials — ASI Sarfaraz and constables Waqar, Humayun, and Fayaz — are still at large, and raids are being conducted for their arrest.

He added that the arrested officers had subjected Muhammad Irfan to severe torture during custody, which led to his death.

The court ordered the FIA to conduct a detailed investigation and submit its report on the case.
