Sindh launches digital job portal for transparent hiring

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah on Tuesday launched the Sindh Job Portal, a fully digital platform aimed at ensuring transparent, efficient, and merit-based recruitment across all provincial departments.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Shah said the initiative was aligned with Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s vision of expanding employment opportunities.

He noted that over 326,000 candidates had already passed tests through the system, adding that tests would now be conducted every month, with results available immediately.

“If a candidate fails, they can retake the test multiple times, with the first attempt funded by the Sindh government,” he said.

The chief minister said the portal connects job seekers directly with government departments, creating a “bridge between Sindh’s youth and employment opportunities.”

Each department will upload its vacancies online, with the Finance Department approving positions before postings go live.

“Previously, jobs were advertised without financial approval, causing long delays,” he said.

“Now, the process will be fully digital and synchronised, from approval to advertisement.”

The Sindh Job Portal, developed by the Science and Information Technology Department in collaboration with Sukkur IBA University, has reduced the recruitment cycle from 12 months to one.

The portal offers features, including job matching, support in Urdu, Sindhi, and English languages, and voice-based searches.

The platform is linked with the Health Department and Sindh Police for online verifications of medical and character certificates.

Shah said the new system would make recruitment faster, fairer, and more transparent.

“Sindh has become the first province to adopt a fully digital and integrated recruitment system — a major step toward e-governance and good governance,” he added.
