Speaking to reporters after a joint meeting of PPP and PML-N leaders chaired by President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Sanaullah said the PML-N’s parliamentary party had unanimously decided not to join the current AJK government.

“We do not have confidence in the existing setup, and the PML-N will not be part of it,” he said.

PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira said there was consensus between the two parties that the incumbent AJK government had failed to address public issues.

“There is agreement that Azad Kashmir needs a better and more stable government,” he added, stressing that both parties aimed to work together to ensure political stability and resolve public grievances.

PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal echoed similar views, saying the present setup in AJK had failed to deliver on its responsibilities or meet the expectations of the people.

AJK premier says no-confidence move part of democracy

Meanwhile, AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq has ruled out dissolving the legislative assembly amid growing political tension.

Speaking informally to journalists in Muzaffarabad, he said, “I cannot set fire to the house I was born in. A no-confidence motion is part of democracy—if someone has the numbers, they should bring it.”

Responding to a question about his possible resignation, the AJK premier smiled and declined to comment, saying he remained focused on performing his duties as long as he held office.

“I came here alone and now stand among friends. I am the only prime minister who filled the treasury instead of emptying it,” he remarked, adding that he would soon hold a detailed press conference on his government’s performance.
