According to sources, Pakistan has conveyed that the attacks by the Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan terrorist groups must be halted under all circumstances.

Pakistan has also made it clear that Afghan soil must not be used for attacks against Pakistan, stressing the need for a clear and effective mechanism to control terrorism.

“Only when this fundamental demand is accepted can the dialogue move forward,” the sources said, adding that if Pakistan remains unsatisfied, it will show no flexibility.

The Pakistani side reiterated its desire to promote good-neighbourly and brotherly relations but asserted that it reserves the right to take all possible measures for its security.

The talks were being hosted by Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin.

During Saturday’s meeting, the Pakistani delegation submitted proposals aimed at establishing lasting peace, while the Afghan Taliban delegation presented its response at 2am on October 26.

Pakistan, in turn, submitted its counter-response at around 6am the same morning.
