The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) on Saturday announced plans to bring an in-house change in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, declaring its intention to form a new government.

Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is expected to unveil the final strategy on Monday.

The announcement followed a high-level meeting of the PPP AJK Parliamentary Party held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr under the chairmanship of President Asif Ali Zardari.

Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also attended the meeting, which focused on the possible change of government and the formation of a new cabinet in AJK.

The first session of the meeting was presided over by Bilawal, while President Zardari chaired the second session.

After the meeting, PPP AJK leader Chaudhry Yasin told reporters that the party had finalised its roadmap for government formation and that Bilawal would share the details on Monday.

Javed Ayub added that the PPP could not remain indifferent to its political responsibilities in AJK.

Earlier, the PPP Parliamentarians also held an internal consultation chaired by Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

Qamar Zaman Kaira later told the media that all members had shared their views and that the party had completed its internal deliberations regarding the in-house change.

He confirmed that while the name of the new prime minister had not yet been decided, the PPP had secured the required number of votes in the AJK Legislative Assembly.

The final decision, he said, would be taken in the next meeting chaired by President Zardari.
