This technology includes the successful testing of big batteries, DC power systems, and remote piloting.

He went on to say that the project’s combination of smart control systems, modern engines, and coastal infrastructure allowed for sophisticated features, including ship-to-shore communication and multi-network integration.

According to the Chinese, the electric ship would cut carbon emissions by 2,000 tons and save 617 tons of fuel a year, making it a significant step toward a greener shipping sector.
