&lt;p&gt;South African spinner Keshav Maharaj, who missed the first test in Lahore owing to a groin injury, amassed seven wickets, backed by a two-wicket haul by Simon Harmer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Pakistan were 259-5 at the end of day one as Saud Shakeel had remained unbeaten on 42, with Salman Ali Agha on 10 not out.&lt;/p&gt;
