Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday held an important meeting with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari at Bilawal House in Karachi, during which the two sides discussed the prevailing political situation.

During the meeting, Naqvi briefed the PPP chairman on his recent meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

According to sources, Naqvi conveyed the federal government’s message to Bilawal, stressing that the PPP remains a key coalition partner and that the current political system cannot function without the party’s participation.

The interior minister informed Bilawal that efforts are underway to amicably resolve differences between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the PPP.

Quoting Naqvi, the sources said that “mutual friends” are also playing a role to ensure that disagreements do not deepen.

Party insiders said Naqvi discussed the overall political situation, law and order issues, and statements emerging from the Punjab government.

During the meeting, Naqvi specifically delivered a message from the federal government to Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari.

PPP sources earlier said that several party members had expressed dissatisfaction with the governance style of the PML-N and the Punjab government during a recent Central Executive Committee (CEC) meeting.

At that meeting, PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari had reportedly urged members to give him one month to resolve all outstanding issues between the two coalition partners.
