Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who presided over the meeting held in Islamabad, briefed the cabinet on his recent foreign visits, meetings with world leaders, and the evolving regional situation.

He also apprised the ministers of the country’s internal affairs, security challenges, and Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements on the global stage.

Sources said the cabinet discussed recent cross-border provocations from Afghanistan involving the Indian-backed terrorist group “Fitna Al Hindustan” and other extremist elements.

The participants paid tribute to the Pakistan Army personnel who embraced martyrdom in the fight against terrorism and expressed full solidarity with their families.

The cabinet reaffirmed its resolve to eradicate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

According to the sources, the meeting also endorsed the decisions of the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions and deliberated on matters related to overseas employment and technical and vocational education and training (TVET).

The cabinet ratified decisions made in three meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases (CCLC) and reviewed recommendations submitted by the Cabinet Committee on Regulatory Reforms.

A detailed report by the Ministry of Energy on reforms in the power sector was also presented during the meeting, the sources added.
