Wazir Mohammad, a distinguished batter from Pakistan’s formative cricketing years, was the elder brother of legendary cricketer Hanif Mohammad and former Test player Mushtaq Mohammad and Sadiq Mohammad.

He represented Pakistan in 20 Test matches, scoring 801 runs with his solid technique and composed batting style.

Wazir was a key member of the first generation of Pakistani cricketers who helped build the national team’s reputation on the international stage during the 1950s and 60s.

Expressing grief over his demise, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

He said Wazir Mohammad’s contributions to Pakistan cricket will always be remembered, as he played a vital role in shaping the foundation of the sport in the country.

The passing of Wazir Mohammad marks the end of an era closely tied to Pakistan’s cricketing heritage and the famed Mohammad family that produced several of the nation’s finest players.
