Pakistan had been defeated by their South Asian mates – India and Bangladesh – in their first two matches.

Pakistan’s batting lineup faced consecutive collapses in both matches. Faced with Bangladesh in their first game, Pakistan had been all out on just 129 runs, while chasing the target of 248 runs against India, Pakistan were left behind 88 runs as their batting stint wrapped up on 159 runs.

India, winning their first two games, has topped the points table. Pakistan and New Zealand are yet to secure a win to gain their first two points.

At the end of the round robin round, the top four teams from the points table will qualify for the semi-finals.
