The operation was conducted in the Zahri area of Khuzdar district, Balochistan, the military said.

In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operation targeted militants affiliated with the Fitna Al Hindustan terrorist group.

The ISPR said more than 14 militants were killed and over 20 wounded, and several militant hideouts were destroyed during the raid.

Security sources told reporters the militants had become increasingly desperate after repeated setbacks and were attempting to harass civilians.

Forces acted in time to disrupt the alleged plot, the sources said.

The ISPR added that local residents welcomed the operation, chanted pro-army slogans and pledged full cooperation against the militants.

Residents praised the sacrifices and efforts of the security forces in combating terrorism.

Officials said operations against the group will continue to ensure public safety and eliminate elements that threaten national peace and security.
