The order highlighted the strong and years-long relations between the Gulf country and the United States of America based on cooperation, shared interests, and the close relationship between the armed forces.

“The State of Qatar has hosted United States forces, enabled critical security operations, and stood as a steadfast ally in pursuit of peace, stability, and prosperity, both in the Middle East and abroad, including as a mediator that has assisted the United States’ attempts to resolve significant regional and global conflicts,” said the order.

It guaranteed that the US would defend Qatar on all – diplomatic, economic and military fronts. It assured the Gulf nation that after this order, every US administration will be bound to take “all lawful and appropriate measures.”

On September 9, Israel launched an unprovocative attack on Qatar’s capital Doha, targeting Hamas’ officials who were gathering to discuss the US demands for the ceasefire in Gaza.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called Qatar’s prime minister from the White House on Monday and apologised to Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who has remained a long-standing strategic partner of US.
