Following the talks at the Arab-Islamic Summit, hosted jointly by President Trump and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a joint communique was issued, stressing the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire.

The leaders told President Trump that the forced displacement of Palestinians was unacceptable and that the ongoing violence had deeply shocked and distressed the Islamic world.

The communiqué warned that the humanitarian crisis in Gaza had reached its peak, with conditions becoming “unbearable.”

The leaders praised Trump’s leadership qualities and assured him of their full cooperation, urging him to play a decisive role in halting the conflict.

They expressed confidence that if President Trump intervenes, he could help bring an end to the fighting. The statement also voiced hope that the United States would take a positive step towards a sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue.

Shehbaz attends the summit

On the sidelines of the summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held bilateral meetings with Sheikh Tamim, King Abdullah II of Jordan, and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto.

According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meetings featured warm handshakes, candid exchanges, and discussions on pressing global issues, including the escalating crisis in Gaza.
