She travelled on the new service and arrived at the venue of the ceremony by bus.

The launch of the ‘Electro Bus’ service was met with enthusiasm, as thousands of people gathered along the roads, with many young people walking alongside Sahiwal’s first electric bus.

Provincial Minister for Transport Bilal Akbar Butt briefed the chief minister on the project, informing her that in the first phase, 16 electric buses would run on four routes in the city.

The service is expected to transport more than 25,000 passengers daily, with a fare of Rs20 per stop.

The buses are equipped with Wi-Fi, mobile charging ports, and CCTV cameras, while a separate compartment has been allocated for women passengers. Charging stations have also been set up in Sahiwal to support the new service.
