Water supply from Hub to Karachi hit again as 66-inch pipeline bursts

Water supply from Hub Dam to Karachi was suspended once again on Tuesday after a 66-inch rising pipeline of the Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation burst in Hub.

The rupture disrupted water supply to several parts of Keamari, Central and West districts, leaving residents facing fresh shortages.

The breakdown also forced the closure of the Crush Plant Hydrant, with both Hydrant-1 and Hydrant-2 shutting down, effectively halting tanker services.

According to officials, repair work on the 66-inch pipeline may take 10 to 13 hours.

The disruption comes just a day after water supply was restored following five days of repair work on the Hub Canal, raising concerns over the fragile state of Karachi’s water infrastructure.
