The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced bounties on 1,351 most-wanted terrorists across the province, setting the total reward amount at more than Rs4.15 billion.

A statement issued by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) revealed that out of the listed suspects, 676 individuals have identifiable CNIC (Computerised National Identity Card) data.

Peshawar tops the list with 185 terrorists on whom bounties have been placed — the highest for any district.

In North Waziristan, bounties have been announced for 129 terrorists, while Bannu follows closely with 117.

Dera Ismail Khan (D.I. Khan) has 111 terrorists on the list. In Khyber, bounties have been placed on 72 individuals.

Kohat has 65 wanted terrorists on the list, while Upper Dir, Lower Dir, and Lakki Marwat each have 55 wanted men with bounties.

The move is part of counter-terrorism efforts aimed at curbing militant activities in the region, as the security situation remains a matter of concern in certain districts.
