The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) made these remarks during a visit to review the prevailing flood situation and ongoing relief efforts.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Army Staff visited flood relief camps established in Kasur Sector and Jalalpur Pirwala, Multan.

The visit to flood-affected areas of Kasur and Multan focused on enhancing synergy between the civil administration and the military to ensure effective assistance for the affected population.

The Punjab chief secretary and other senior officials of the civil administration were also present at the occasion.

Upon his arrival in the flood-affected areas, he was received by the Corps Commanders of the Lahore and Multan Corps.

The army chief also conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected regions in Lahore-Kasur and Multan-Jalalpur Pirwala Axes.

On this occasion, the army chief was briefed on the ground situation and the ongoing rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.

While speaking to the civil administration, the army chief emphasised the importance of good governance and people-centric development.

He highlighted the need for coordinated efforts between civil and military institutions to resolve the issues faced by flood victims.

He emphasised that all necessary measures, including infrastructural development required for protecting the people against the devastations caused by frequent floods, should be expedited.

The army chief also met with army personnel, Rescue 1122 workers, and police officers involved in relief operations, praising their high morale, readiness, and dedication to serving the nation under extremely difficult conditions.

He also visited flood victims relocated to safer areas, assuring them of full support in their resettlement and rehabilitation.

According to ISPR, the victims expressed their gratitude to the Pakistan Army for providing timely assistance.
