The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has reported an increase in river water flow due to the anticipated rains and water inflow from India.

At the Marala point of the Chenab river, the water flow is currently at 115,000 cusecs, increasing to 205,000 cusecs at Khanqah and 266,000 cusecs at Qadirabad. The flow reaches 331,000 cusecs at Head Trimmu.

In the Ravi River, water flow is recorded at 73,000 cusecs at Jisr, 112,000 cusecs at Shahdara, 114,000 cusecs at Syphon, 144,000 cusecs at Baloki Headworks and 122,000 cusecs at Head Sidhnai.

The PDMA spokes person also noted that the Sutlej River’s flow stands at 319,000 cusecs at Ganda Singh Wala, 142,000 cusecs at Head Suleiman Ki and 310,000 cusecs at Punjnad Headworks.

With the rising water levels, citizens are advised to exercise caution and avoid engaging in recreational activities, fishing or any other activities near the rivers.
