In Islamabad, streets at G-8 and G-11 intersections were inundated, leaving vehicles stranded as rainwater turned roads into streams.

The highest rainfall was recorded in H-8 with 99 mm, followed by Golra at 76 mm, New Katarian 63mm, and Pirwadhai 42mm.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), intermittent heavy rainfall is expected to continue over the coming days.

In Rawalpindi, the surge of rainwater raised fears of flash floods.

Sirens were sounded as the water level in Nala Lai reached 19.3 feet at Katarian and 16.6 feet at Gawalmandi, both nearing critical levels.

Rescue 1122 teams and civil defence personnel have been deployed along Nala Lai to deal with any emergency.

Evacuation operations are underway in low-lying areas near Katarian and Gawalmandi, while rescue teams remain on high alert to respond to any emergency.

Authorities have warned residents to avoid venturing near streams and drains. The district administration has appealed for public cooperation to prevent loss of life and property.

The PMD further forecasts more rain in Kashmir, Murree, Abbottabad, and Mansehra, with thunderstorms expected in Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Bagh, and Haveli.
