According to Faizullah Firaq, spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan government, the helicopter crashed at the Thor area. He stated that the crash occurred due to a technical fault.

According to the spokesperson, the helicopter was carrying two pilots and three technical staff members.

He further said that following the crash, the Commander FCN and the Director-General of Gilgit-Baltistan Scouts reached the crash site, while the Commissioner of Diamer was also present at the spot.

Faizullah Firaq added that efforts are ongoing to extinguish the fire that broke out after the helicopter crash. The Gilgit-Baltistan chief minister has expressed sorrow over the incident.
