While Baber remains a key player for the national team in other formats, he has not featured in a T20 International since Pakistan’s tour to South Africa late last year.

Consequently, he was left out of the squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, with the team management opting to trust emerging players like Sahibzada Farhan.

“There’s no doubt Babar has been asked to improve in areas such as tackling spin and boosting his strike rate,” Hesson stated, noting that Babar has a strike rate of 129 in T20s.

“He is working hard on these aspects, but the current players have performed exceptionally well.”

Hesson also highlighted Sahibzada Farhan’s impressive performance, noting that he has played 6 games and earned 3 player-of-the-match awards.

To aid his comeback, Babar was encouraged to participate in the Big Bash League in Australia to refine his 20-over batting skills.

Hesson added, “A player like Babar has an opportunity to showcase his improvements in T20s. He’s too talented to overlook.”
