      <title>May 9 cases: ATC acquits Shah Mahmood, sentences Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry</title>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore on Monday announced verdicts in two cases related to the events of May 9, acquitting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi, while sentencing Dr Yasmin Rashid and Ejaz Chaudhry to 10 years in prison each.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The trial was held at Kot Lakhpat Jail, where ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gill announced the verdicts in the Shadman Town police station arson case and the vandalism case outside Rahat Bakery.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;According to the decision, PTI’s senior leader and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi was acquitted in both cases.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;The court sentenced PTI leaders Mian Mahmoodur Rashid and Umar Sarfraz Cheema to 10 years imprisonment each, while Alia Hamza and Sanam Javed were given five-year prison terms.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In total, the ATC convicted 13 individuals in the Shadman arson case and acquitted 12. Similarly, in the Rahat Bakery vandalism case, 7 individuals were convicted while 10 were acquitted.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Earlier, an ATC in Faisalabad awarded prison sentences to other PTI leaders, including Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz, in separate cases related to the May 9 violence.&lt;/p&gt;
