According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the total number of terrorists killed in these two days of counter-terrorism operations has reached 47.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists, the army spokesperson added.

On the night of August 7-8, security forces in Zhob foiled an attempt by terrorists to infiltrate from across the Afghan border and carried out a major operation, killing 33 Indian-backed Khawarij militants.

According to the ISPR, a large movement of militants was detected along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border on the night of August 7-8.

The ISPR said that terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Khawarij were attempting to enter Pakistan from the Sambaza area of Zhob district.

However, the security forces foiled the infiltration attempt by taking timely and effective action.

The army spokesperson said that 33 India-backed Khawarij were killed as a result of the bold and effective operation by the security forces.

Later, during the night of August 8-9, another operation was carried out near the Pak-Afghan border in which 14 more Khawarij militants were killed, bringing the number of terrorists eliminated in the two-day operation to 47.

The spokesperson reaffirmed that the security forces are determined and fully prepared to defend the country’s borders and eradicate Indian-sponsored terrorism.

The spokesperson said that the Pakistan Army is committed to safeguarding the country’s frontiers and thwarting all attempts to sabotage peace, stability, and development.

PM, interior minister pay tribute

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid rich tributes to the security forces, stating that the nefarious designs of the Fitna Al Khawarij have been crushed.

He said that the security forces had foiled the infiltration attempt by terrorists, adding that the entire nation stands by its defenders in the fight against terrorism.

The prime minister reaffirmed the resolve that this struggle will continue until the complete eradication of terrorism from the country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the professionalism of the security forces and said that the nation views the successes of the forces against terrorists with admiration.

He said that the security forces have achieved another milestone by eliminating 47 terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan in two days.
