The decision will come into effect from July 1, 2025, and it aims to provide economic relief to the working class struggling under the burden of inflation.

According to Sindh Labour Minister Shahid Thahim, the monthly wage for semi-skilled workers has been fixed at Rs41,380, for skilled workers at Rs49,628 and for highly skilled workers at Rs51,745.

He clarified that this wage will apply equally to all registered and unregistered industrial and commercial establishments, and both male and female workers will be paid equally.

According to the notification, establishments where workers are paid on an hourly basis will be required to ensure a minimum wage of Rs192 per hour.

The labour minister said that the Sindh government is pursuing labour-friendly policies and is taking practical steps to ensure the welfare of labourers, fair wages, and better working conditions.

He said the main objective of increasing the minimum wage is to enable workers to lead a dignified life and reduce economic inequality.

The Labour Department has initiated steps for effective communication with industrialists and to ensure the strict implementation of labour laws to prevent exploitation of workers.
