A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will hear the appeals on Tuesday at 9.30am. Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui is the other member of the bench.

Imran Khan had filed appeals for post-arrest bail in the May 9 cases through advocate Salman Safdar. The Lahore High Court had earlier rejected his bail applications.

It may be recalled that on May 9, 2023, the PTI held a nationwide protest following Imran Khan’s arrest from the premises of the Islamabad High Court in the Al-Qadir Trust case.

During the protest, the Pakistan Muslim League-N office in Lahore’s Model Town was set on fire.

Additionally, military, civilian, and private installations were torched, causing extensive damage to both public and private properties.

At least eight people were killed, and 290 were injured in the violence.

Protesters also stormed the Corps Commander’s residence in Lahore, also known as Jinnah House, and broke down a gate of General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

Later, 1,900 people involved in vandalism, arson and clashes with law enforcement agencies were arrested, while cases were also registered against Imran Khan and other PTI leaders and workers.
