There is no evidence of Pakistan’s involvement in Pahalgam attack: Ex-Indian minister

Former Indian home minister P. Chidambaram has denied the involvement of Pakistan in the deadly attack in the Pahalgam area of Indian-occupied Kashmir in April this year.

In an interview, the former Indian minister rejected the Modi government’s narrative by questioning the investigation and collection of evidence by the Indian authorities.

“They are unwilling to disclose what the NIA (National Investigation Authority) has done all these weeks?” he said.

He further questioned, “Have they identified the terrorists? From where did they come?”.

“For all we know that they could be homegrown terrorist”, said P. Chidambaram.

His remarks exposed the false propaganda initiated by the Modi government to hold Pakistan responsible for cross-border terrorism without any evidence.

The interview also disclosed the Indian government’s disingenuous attempts to hide facts and avoid claiming responsibility for their negligence and failure to ensure the safety of their citizens.

The Indian government continued to blame Pakistan for the Pahalgam attack that occurred on April 22, which claimed the lives of over two dozen civilians.

Pakistani authorities denied all the allegations and offered a “neutral and transparent” investigation into the matter.

In response to the attack, the Indian government launched strikes against Pakistan, targeting the military sites and attacking civilians.

Pakistan responded resolutely and downed five indian fighter jets.

The escalations were lowered by the mediation from the US, UAE, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.
