PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz has submitted a formal application to the Lahore deputy commissioner, seeking permission for the rally.

The application said that the purpose of the rally is to raise public awareness about the efforts made for the release of the party founder.

In his petition, Sheikh Imtiaz said that if holding the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan is not possible, then permission should be granted for an alternative location.

The petition further stated that the rally will be held on August 5 from 4pm to 10pm with the participation of party leadership and members of the provincial assembly.

PTI leaders said that the rally will be peaceful and will be aimed at expressing public opinion in line with democratic demands.
