The District and Sessions Court in Islamabad on Saturday issued a bailable arrest warrant against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the liquor and arms case.

Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Chisti, who issued the order, also asked the police to present Gandapur in court on the next date of hearing.

The court rejected Ali Amin Gandapur’s request for exemption from appearance and adjourned the hearing till July 21.

The same court also heard the Azadi March cases against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders and workers.

Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Chishti issued summons for PTI leaders Ali Amin Gandapur and Shafqat Mahmood after challans in their cases were presented before the court.

However, the court issued bailable arrest warrants for other absent accused and adjourned further hearing until July 24.

Both cases relating to the Azadi March were registered at Bara Kahu police station, in which PTI leadership and several workers had been named.

On the other hand, Additional Sessions Judge Nasr Minullah Baloch heard the audio leak case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.

Gandapur filed a petition in the court seeking exemption from appearance, arguing that he had been granted bail by the Peshawar High Court until September 23.

Defence lawyer Raja Zahoor-ul-Hassan requested the court to postpone the indictment proceedings for a longer period, upon which the court adjourned the hearing of the audio leak case until September 29.

It is pertinent to mention that a case has been registered at the Golra police station against Ali Amin Gandapur and others in the audio leak case.
