According to sources, the oath of office will be administered to the members elected on reserved seats during the session.

Talking to the media, Governor Kundi stated that the government and the opposition should hold consultations for the upcoming Senate elections.

He made it clear that if consultations were not held, the opposition might secure more Senate seats in the presence of 35 independent members.

Kundi said he submitted proposals to the government to prevent the chances of horse trading.

According to him, the chief minister had previously discussed holding a meeting; however, the chief minister showed ignorance that the previous meetings were called on requisition.

The governor urged the government to establish unity within its ranks.

He also expressed reservations regarding the tribal districts, saying that these areas have become a ‘football’ between the federal and provincial governments.

Kundi warned that major powers have set their sights on the Afghan border areas, and the modern weapons left there were being used in terrorism against Pakistan today.

Kundi said that despite political differences, the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be defended in association with the federation.

He also revealed that the federal government has formed a committee for the revival of the jirga system.

However, the real stakeholders of the tribal districts have not been included in it, the governor stated.

The governor demanded that these stakeholders should be given representation in the committee for effective decision-making.
