The Sindh government has revoked the licences of 36 private security companies and issued notices to 41 others as part of a province-wide crackdown on non-compliant firms.

The action came after a high-level meeting chaired by Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar in Karachi on Monday.

The meeting took key decisions, including a review of laws governing private security companies and the formulation of new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance regulation and oversight.

The home minister also approved the formation of a committee tasked with inspecting security firms across Sindh. The committee is expected to submit its inspection report within 30 days.

According to a briefing by the additional chief secretary during the session, 302 private security companies are currently registered in Sindh.

Authorities indicated that further action may be taken against companies found to be substandard, inactive, or in violation of legal requirements.
