According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a strong monsoon system is expected to affect the upper and central parts of the country from July 15 to 17, bringing heavy downpours, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hailstorms in several regions.

The Met Office forecasts widespread rainfall starting Monday night, continuing through July 17, in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and many cities across Punjab.

Karachi is also expected to experience thunderstorms and rainfall from July 14 to 16.

Authorities have issued warnings of urban flooding, especially in low-lying areas, and possible flash floods in streams and nullahs.

Relevant departments have been instructed to ensure timely drainage and implement preventive measures to mitigate the impact.

As the monsoon gains strength, residents have been urged to stay alert and follow safety advisories issued by local administrations.
