The SJC met under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and was attended by Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Munib Akhtar, Justice Aalia Neelum, and Justice Junaid Ghaffar

Sources indicate that the SJC held detailed discussions on the nature of complaints received and how they should be addressed.

One key proposal — suggesting that names of judges cleared of complaints should be made public — was brought forward but ultimately rejected by the council.

It was decided that to preserve judicial dignity and ensure a balanced approach to transparency, the names of judges whose complaints have been resolved will not be disclosed.

According to an official statement issued after the meeting, the council reviewed 24 complaints filed under article 209 of the constitution.

Of these, 19 were unanimously dismissed, while five were deferred for further consideration.

Additionally, the council approved the draft of the Supreme Judicial Council Service Rules 2025.

The statement added that the proposed amendments to the code of conduct will undergo further legal review, and more consultations will be held regarding the inquiry procedures.
