No immediate plan to dismiss KP government, says Ameer Muqam

Federal Minister and senior leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ameer Muqam has said there is currently no plan to topple the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, but in politics, nothing can ever be ruled out.

Speaking to Aaj News via telephone, Ameer Muqam stressed that political decisions are made based on time and circumstances, and the possibility of removing the KP government cannot be entirely dismissed.

He clarified that the PML-N has not reached out to any political party so far, but if deemed necessary, contact will be established with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

Earlier, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah had also stated that no discussion had taken place with Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the ousting of the KP government.

He further confirmed that no vote of no-confidence is currently under consideration against the PTI-led provincial government.

Meanwhile, the Awami National Party (ANP) has categorically refused to be part of any move to bring down the KP government.

ANP’s central spokesperson Ihsanullah Khan stated that his party will not engage in any such effort and will not be part of any horse-trading.

He added that while some parties wish to see a united opposition form a government in KP, the ANP remains committed to democratic norms and will not support any unconstitutional action.

It is worth mentioning that KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has already thrown down the gauntlet, declaring that no amount of pressure can bring down his government through unconstitutional means.

“If my government is removed through legal and constitutional channels, I will quit politics,” he said defiantly.
