CM Punjab bans mobile phone use by doctors, nurses in public hospitals

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has imposed a strict ban on the use of mobile phones by doctors and nurses during duty hours in all public hospitals across the province.

According to an official directive issued by the CM’s Office, no doctor or nurse will be allowed to use mobile phones while on duty.

The ban is part of a broader initiative to enhance discipline and ensure better patient care in government healthcare facilities.

The notification clearly states that any violation of the ban will result in strict action under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, and could lead to dismissal from service.

Officials said the decision was taken to ensure that the medical staff remain fully focused on patients and deliver uninterrupted healthcare services.

All public hospitals across Punjab have been instructed to enforce the directive immediately.
