Kolouchova went missing earlier on Friday morning while she and another climber were ascending from Base Camp to Camp 2 via the Diamer Face of the mountain.

Her teammate, who returned to Base Camp, confirmed her death and reported that the explosion of her oxygen cylinder caused the fatal accident.

The tragic incident occurred during an ongoing expedition that had begun last month and involved a team of foreign climbers aiming to summit Nanga Parbat, the ninth-highest peak in the world.

Following the report, authorities in Diamer dispatched ground rescue teams to Base Camp, including local high-altitude porters.

Officials have confirmed that a helicopter rescue mission will begin on Saturday to recover Kolouchova’s body and transport it to Chilas.

Nanga Parbat, also known as the “Killer Mountain,” remains one of the most dangerous and technically challenging peaks in the world, where climbers often face extreme conditions and life-threatening risks.
