His funeral prayer is scheduled for today at 10am at Jamia Madania Jadeed on Raiwind Road, Lahore.

Widely respected as a distinguished Islamic scholar and eminent authority on hadith, Maulana Syed Mahmood Mian was also regarded as a prominent spiritual leader.

His family has maintained a longstanding influence in religious and political spheres, with his father having also served as the central Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed profound grief over his passing, describing him as a great hadith scholar, esteemed teacher, and exemplary spiritual guide who dedicated his entire life to the service of Prophetic knowledge.

He prayed that Allah accepts his invaluable contributions.
