According to official sources, the president signed the finance bill on Monday, after it was passed by the National Assembly with a majority vote a few days earlier.

With this approval, the federal government now has the legal authority to implement the proposed revenues and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year.

The new budget will come into effect at midnight tonight, and several new tax measures and financial reforms outlined in the finance bill will also be enforced from that time.

President Zardari’s signature on the bill finalises the legislative process, allowing the government to proceed with its economic agenda for the 2025-26 financial year.
