In an interview aired Sunday on Fox News, Trump said, “If they can be peaceful, and if they can join us, they are not going to do any more harm, I would take the sanctions off.”

He added that easing sanctions “would make a big difference” for Tehran, emphasizing diplomacy over pressure. “You get more sometimes with honey than you do with vinegar,” he remarked.

Trump had previously suspended efforts to relax sanctions after Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei threatened to target US bases in retaliation for renewed American strikes on Iranian positions.

Uranium evacuation claims dismissed

Trump also rejected reports that Iran managed to evacuate enriched uranium before the US attacks. He argued that the logistical challenges and the short notice made such a move impossible.

“They did not move anything. They did not think it was going to be actually doable what we did,” he said, describing the removal as “hard” and “dangerous.”

According to Trump, Iran has been severely weakened by recent American and Israeli military operations. He predicted that Tehran’s nuclear activities would come to a temporary halt.

“The last thing they are going to be doing right now, for a period of time at least, is nuclear. They have had it,” he stated.

Expansion of Abraham accords expected

Trump further noted that several countries have expressed interest in joining the Abraham Accords, the normalization agreements between Israel and Arab nations, though he did not identify any specific states.

“We have some really great countries in there right now, and I think we are going to start loading them up, because Iran was the primary problem,” he said.
